In Purnia, former Chief Minister late Bhola Paswan Shastri’s granddaughter Megha was held hostage in her house at gunpoint. This incident was carried out by none other than her husband. Not only this, before taking her hostage, he fired around six rounds. Megha’s parents appealed to the police. After this the police arrived and surrounded the house. For around three hours the accused kept misleading the police by talking about this or that. After a lot of persuasion, she opened the door. After this, what she said during the police interrogation was shocking. This incident happened in the DIG Chowk area of Haat police station area.
Manohar said- I had come to kill myself
It is being told that Megha had a love marriage with Manohar Kumar Jha, a resident of Sukhsena village of the eastern district, 10 years ago. However, both of them separated a few days after the marriage. During interrogation with the police, Manohar said that there was a dispute going on between us. My family did not accept this relationship because of her different caste. I came to my wife after two years with the intention of talking to her. I had a weapon in my hand, if I had to kill her, I would have killed her the moment she was held hostage. Manohar said that I had come to kill myself. I had come to talk to Megha and her mother. They were not talking. I want to keep Megha with me. Our relationship has been for 10 years. I tried a lot to convince the girl and her family. But no one listened.
Police is trying to save the girl safely
Megha’s family says that on Monday suddenly Manohar Kumar Jha came and fired six rounds continuously. He opened fire and entered the house with a pistol in his hand and took the girl hostage. As soon as the police got information about the hostage, they reached the spot and surrounded the house from all sides. After a lot of persuasion, the accused husband opened the door of the house. After this, the police took him into custody.

Regarding the case, SDPO Pushkar Kumar said that as soon as the information of the incident was received, the police officers of Kehat, Sahayak, Madhubani and Sadar police station reached the spot with full force and surrounded the house from all sides. A long conversation was held with the accused husband from outside the house, but he did not come out and kept confusing the police with his words. The police was unable to enter the house as the accused had pistols in both his hands. The accused had sprinkled kerosene oil in the entire house. However, the situation is under control now. He is being questioned.
